  • Ask Dr. Math -- On this site, suitable for elementary through college students (and beyond), you can read through others' questions regarding math. If your question has not been answered there, send it in for an answer by one of 100 math doctors from around the world.
  • Interactive Mathematics -- This is a good site, especially for those who feel they 'hate math' or can't be any good at it. It has a very good essay on the fear of math so many people seem to have and provides games and puzzles dealing with arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and probability. Another great feature is the CTK Exchange for questions and answers
  • Math Archives -- Topics in Math -- Resources for every area of mathematics from grade school through college

Science

  • Access Excellence -- A rich educational resource for biology sponsored by biotech firm Genentech.
  • Mad Scientist -- Questions and answers on a huge range of scientific topics make this a great site for information on science. And if you don't find the answer you're looking for already here, ask a question of the mad scientist of your choice.
  • World Wide Web Journal of Biology -- This site features current and previous editions of The Journal, containing peer-reviewed technical biology articles online. There's also a readers forum, a call for manuscripts, and a nice collection of biology links.
  • Ask Dr. Science -- A great site! Enables people to ask scientific questions, and participate in discussion through e-mail with Dr. Science. Nominated as "Cool Site of the Year" by People Magazine OnLine and InFinet!

    German

  • German for Beginners -- This site provides German materials, links to other German sites, exercises in the German language, and advice on German language software. Some sections are in English.

    Farrago

  • Bienvenidos Bienvenus Welcome -- Put together by a Spanish teacher, this is an impressive group of foreign language links. There are French, German, and Spanish collections, including newspaper and magazine links in all three languages. There's also a chat section, and one for homework help.

Music

  • Children's Music Workshop: Music Education Online -- The Kennedy Center created this compelling site, which features all aspects of the arts: music, dance, fine arts, and more. An awesome resource for students, teachers, parents, and art lovers.
  • ClassicalNet -- ClassicalNet has "a wide array of informational files - over 2000 in all - about classical music, as well as over 1800 links to other interesting web sites." This site is divided into six sections: Basic Repertoire, Classical CD Buying Guide, Recommend Classical CDs, Composer Data, Reviews & Articles, and Classical Music Links, plus a search engine and discussion mailing list.
